Michal Ptaszynski
Welcome to the homepage of Michal Ptaszynski!
My name is Michal Ptaszynski, I am a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the High-Tech research Center, Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Hokkai-Gakuen University, Sapporo, Japan.
I am engaged as a Secondary Investigator in a project called: "Empathic Computer: Developing a Dialogue Agent that Understands and Aptly Responds to User Emotions". It is a project funded by the Japanese Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS). My job within this project can be divided into three main parts. First, is to create systems and tools for affect analysis of textual input in Japanese. Second, is to create language models and architectures applying these tools. Finally, to implement all that into one coherent user interface (empathic agent), able to perform a human-level expressive conversation (or as close to one as possible).
My research interests overlap Natural Language Processing (NLP), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Click here to see all of my research interests.
On this site you will find information about my research activities, publications, tools I have developed or am developing at the moment, and more.
