We are
interested in innate capability for acquisition of language and knowledge of a
person. And the final goal of our research is that "Practical realization
of innate capability for acquisition of language and knowledge of a person on
engineering". We need to make its mechanism clear in order to achieve this
final goal. The system that has language and knowledge acquisition capability
can learn various kinds of information from an environment and grow up. In
informational society, there are many problems such that the most of systems
are very complex and difficult to use them, and we need heavy labor for
developing a lot of software. We could resolve these problems if we could
develop this system that has language and knowledge acquisition capability. A
baby cannot speak language and has no knowledge. However it grows into an adult
that can speak language very well and has various kinds of knowledge by
learning from the environment. Therefore a person has innate capability for
acquisition of language and knowledge certainly.
There
are already some researches on the realization of native capability for acquisition
of language and knowledge. However the systems based on them are not effective
on engineering. And there are many researches on them in psychology. These
researches are effective from point of view how a baby acquires the language.
However they do not deal with problem how to develop this acquiring capability
on the engineering.
A system needs to have emotion for acquire
language. Therefore next step we research on emotion processing. The system can
recognize emotion in text and conversation and generate emotional expression. And
the system needs to have commonsense in order to understand utterances and sentences.
Therefore we research on automatic commonsense extraction from WWW.
Moreover the system needs to have the sense
of self in order to have emotion. The acquisition of the sense of self is very
difficult issue and essential at the same time. In future, we try to deal with
this issue.
